What happens if you get a mortgage and have a deposit but need extra money to do the house up?

We 're thinking of purchasing a property and has a tank, at least the feature we' re thinking in purchasing much needed work and probably cost a lot to make up. Obviously we wouldn 't have any cash after putting it into the house so I need that extra cash. How would go about that? Can you borrow more in the mortgage or should you save a deposit and get 100% mortgage?
