The consumers who got burned should have been more realistic in what they could afford, the lenders shouldn't have encouraged the consumers to buy more than they could afford (just because you can get approved to buy something, doesn't mean you can afford it or should get it). As to what the futrure holds, the lenders will now be more selective in what they are willing to approve. As to how long that will last, who knows. oh, there’s plenty of blame to go around. The consumers who got burned should have been more realistic in what they could afford, the lenders shouldn’t have encouraged the consumers to buy more than they could afford (just because you can get approved to buy something, doesn’t mean you can afford it or should get it).
