This is a difficult career to make any kind of money in with the current housing problems in most parts of the US. After being a loan officer for 13 years, my husband this year got out of it. The market is very depressed currently, but if you can afford to hang in there in a couple of years you should be able to make a living. There is no fast way to do this.

thats awesome, dont listen to the negative advise. you use this as an opportunity to learn. the key is to network yourself. be friendly and smile. if he or she is a realtor, ask him or her for their business cards. this will let them know by your actions that you will promote their business.

I am not sure how anyone expects to make money in the Mortgage industry. The industry is currently in the process of tanking due to subprime loans and crooked brokers. The goverment is even stepping in to help with the adjustable rate mortgages that the greedy people stuck people with.
