It would depend on what can be worked out.  I would get with a bankruptcy attorney to see what can be done.  The other issue here is that if the fiance does file, your talking at least 2-3 years that they can apply for a mortgage, and that's assuming they've rehabbed their credit.  If you try to refi or buy, you will have to do it on your own, the bankruptcy will be a big red flag to the lender.  Good luck</description>

You should discuss that with a bankruptcy attorney "before" she files to see what your options are, because once she files, the bank legally may not be able to discuss it or send statements.</description>
