Me asked: I’ve got a 7.125% fixed rate on a 40 year mortgage through BankofAmerica. Home value is about 125,000. I bought it for 109. The mortgage is for 90. Is there anything better out there that I could actually get?

STARYDYNAMO asked: Sorry to ask the shocking stupid question! I am coming to the end of my mortgage term ( end of September) and am wandering if the mortgage rates will go down (currently for at 6.99%). Do you think it will go down by this time? I am in the UK.

tigrrboxer asked: All reasearch I’ve done via internet and Turkish estate agencies quote really high annual mortgage rates for sterling, more so than Euros. Would it make more sense to buy in Euro? My salary and savings are all in sterling.

swtsarina asked: Countrywide told us that for a 30 year fixed rate for a $417k loan it would be 6% because we work for the government and any mortgage company will offer the same exact rate because it is the “government rate”. Is this correct? I never heard of such a thing.

lynndh5 asked: With the fed just meeting, should I wait until the end before I lock into a mortgage rate. The current rate quoted for me by my bank is 6.125% with 5% down or 6.375% for 100% financing. This is my first home purchase and I don’t want to do the wrong thing…..

jimbob asked: I’m on the verge of getting a mortgage and was curious how the rate cut would affect mortgage rates. Is it a direct relationship, like if my rate is 6% today and tomorrow they cut a half point, will tomorrow mortgage rate be 5.5%?
I’m looking to do a 30 year fixed with about 50% down and excellent credit, any idea what kind of rate I should be looking to get?
Any insight you can offer beofre I take the plunge would be great. Thanks.
Viola

BiterChloe asked: I am doing a regression analysis for a finance class, and I want to look at variables that affect the 30-Year Conventional Mortgage Rate. (eg. 10 yr Treasury note rates).
I just need suggestions on variables that may affect mortgage rates. Thank you!
